Jerome Robbins was an American born choreographer. This book is a fascinating read for anyone interested in dance. Other readers are likely to be overwhelmed and bored by her extensive descriptions of his ballets.

Robbins was born Jerome Rabinowitz in New York in 1918. He struggled with his Jewish identity all his life, and changed his name to Robbins when he started dancing on the stage. The book follows his evolution from dancer to choreographer. He was the mastermind behind such great Broadway musicals as West Side Story and Fiddler on the Roof. He also choreographed ballets for the New York City Ballet.
