There is virtually no hope that Lauren will emerge from this coma or return to the vibrant, young woman she was before the accident. Six months have passed since the accident and Lauren's mother has rented out her apartment to a young architect named Arthur. Arthur gets the shock of his life when he sees a beautiful young woman huddled up in his closet. Arthur thinks the young woman named Lauren is crazy when she tells him that her body is lying across town in a coma at San Francisco Memorial hospital while her spirit is in her old apartment. When Arthur goes to the hospital to verify Lauren's story he is shocked to see a young woman who looks exactly like her in a deep coma.
