Lord Brandon is travelling to London to save his cousin, Lord Robert, from a disasterous marriage. Robert is determined that he has fallen in love with his mistress, Elise, and has wrote several letters asking her to be his wife. Julian see her for the opportunist she is and demands she releases Robert from her clutches. Elise makes a wager with Lord Julian; if he manages to seduce the most proper woman of the ton, Lady Lilith, the she will release Robert.
