Lara and John are a bit surprised to find themselves alive and well a short time after suffering fatal injuries, but strangely unperturbed by the alien voices which tell them they have untapped mental and physical powers they must individually use to fight the "other," an evil alien invader who will destroy humanity unless they can destroy it. Each becomes determined to use these new powers to destroy the threat.
