Mothers is the story of Claire and Theo, lesbian lovers who are raising a son, Willie, together. Theo is Willie's biological mother and begins to feel uncomfortable being in public as a couple. She wants to try and give her son a more normal childhood. Claire is hurt and the two eventually split.
