Lewin was an exotic dancer in "the Combat Zone," Boston's red light district, for about four years in the late 1970s. In her short autobiography, she details how she got there, describes her family and some of the other dancers (the passage on the performance of "Rebel" on the runway and the response of the audience is a minor tour-de-force), her cocaine habit, the job, and how she eventually moved on to get a college degree. The account is decently and honestly written, and though I'm not aware that she's done anything else, one gets the impression Lewin is sharp enough that she's probably getting along just fine now.
