One Wore Blue Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of One Wore Blue

Kiernan Mackay had loved Jesse Cameron since childhood. But when he betrays their people by remaining in the Union Army at the outbreak of the War of Northern Agression, Kiernan vows to hate him for the remainder of her life. She marries another man to prove it, and Jesse makes it his own mission to return the sentiment. But he saves her plantation from burning and inhabits it as a hospital. Being in close quarter with the widow drives him nuts--and it gets to Kiernan too. And, though she swears it doesn't affect her feelings for him, they rekindle their relationship. Then he returns to war and Kiernan is forced both to realize that maybe sides don't matter so much, and to carry their child with only the aid of her sister- and brother-in-law.
