Step into the Roman Empire Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Step into the Roman Empire

This is excellent book introduces the Roman Empire from a topic-based perspective. It is aimed at ages 8 and up, but even an adult (unless already expert) might learn a great deal from its profusely illustrated pages, supported by very concise and accurate text which repays close reading. About thirty topics are covered with such titles as: Rulers of Rome, Town and city, Country life, Food and drink, Sport and combat, Soldiers of the Legion, and Ships of the Empire. Fifteen selected topics have practical craft and modelling projects appended to them such as making a groma (the Roman equivalent of a theodolite) for road building, and making a mosaic.
