Technical Hitch Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Technical Hitch

On the day of her wedding, Jessica James, wedding planner, finds herself on the verge of calling off her wedding to her boyfriend of seven years, Nick Seaton. When her younger, married sister Sarah and her best friend, Fi (Nick's sister), try to talk her out of cancelling the wedding, Jessica gives them numerous irrational reasons why she can't go through with the ceremony. Jessica calls off the wedding and heads off on her two week honeymoon solo, leaving poor Nick to explain to all the guests that the wedding has been called off. Jess soon finds out that honeymooning by herself isn't much fun and she fears that she has made a big mistake. Jess can't wait to get back to London and patch things up with Nick. Unfortunately, when Jess arrives in London she discovers that Nick has started a romantic relationship with her assistant, Rosie. Making things worse, Fi has managed to meet Michael, the man of her dreams, at Jess' aborted wedding. Meanwhile, Jessica has pulled off the coup of her career by organizing the wedding of famous bad boy actor, Jack Carlisle to secretary Emma Hunter. Little does the world know that the fairytale wedding of Jack and Emma is nothing more than a carefully constructed ruse to improve Jack's faltering public image. Girl next door Emma enters into the phony marriage at the behest of her boss, Patrick, who has a business relationship with Jack. When Emma and Jack slowly start to fall in love, Emma realizes that her one adulterous indiscretion with Patrick may come back to haunt her.
