Hilary is a London hairdresser who met millionaire Swiss banker, Roel Sabatino, and fell in love with him. When he needed a wife to fulfill the terms of his grandfather's will she offered to marry him in name only. Roel insisted on paying her, and made it clear he wanted nothing more to do with her after the wedding, although he did accept and carry with him a picture of her labeled "Your wife, Hilary" with a phone number on it. Four years later Roel is involved in a car accident and has partial memory loss. Roel's aunt sees the picture of Hilary and calls her while Roel is still unconscious. Hilary is still in love with Roel and thinking he might be seriously injured, goes to the hospital in Switzerland to see him.
