The Americans suspect the Russians for this act of terrorism. The Russians deny any involvement in the whole affair, however, the situation calls for immediate inquiry. The Sum of All Fears is about a nuclear attack on the Super Bowl in Denver by an Arabic terrorist group. The president and his NSA, who should have been at the Bowl, distraught over their close brush with death, become very paranoid and suspect Russia of masterminding the Attack. Jack Ryan has to convince the President that it wasn't Russia, and defuse several inflammatory events occuring between Russian and American military forces.

incredibly detailed and revealing look into politics, psychology, terrorism, ethics, responsibility and the state of current world events in relation to nuclear technology. awesome in scope and believability. ominous and sobering.
a most ingenious technothriller in every way, and superior in most. title of the book couldn't be more aptly put.

A terrorist mastermind has a plan for unleashing a nuclear weapon on the United States and starting the next world war. When everything goes wrong, both at home and at work, Jack Ryan is forced to unravel one of the greatest terrorist plans ever conceived, and try to save his marriage at the same time... This is my all around favorite, and I highly recommend it (as well as any Clancy book) to anyone who thinks they're ready for a story as gripping and as terrifying as this...

that weird guy down the hall.... on 5/18/2015 5:52:16 PM says: Liz Elliot is a total b****! great book otherwise. really like how Tom isn't afraid to have bad things happen, like how in most other action novels Jack would've stopped the bomb from going off last second. which is boring and repetitive. plz no
