On his eighteenth birthday David C. Johnson dreams of Mars where his Aunt Gertrude is a mayor, but knows he will soon be a farmer like his dad on this post destruction orb. However, Gertrude has sent him a special present, a small spaceship for he and his sister Eva to journey to her planet. An accident occurs, but when the two siblings regain consciousness, they find themselves on an alien vessel that is part of the New Federation of Worlds, thousands of planets populated by several sentient races.
With no chance or desire to return home, David and Eva adapt to residing in Xenon City with a robot to help them adjust. David begins a successful career in the Stellar Fleet even as he falls in love, but is hurt when he realizes how she has used him. Over time, he serves honorably but he dreams of returning to earth with New Federation technology to undo centuries of harm.
The first tale of the “Earther's Biography” is an exciting outer space action adventure tale. The story is written in an episode like manner, which takes a slight adjustment, but actually adds to increased understanding of the marooned earthly pair. David is a strong star as his story amidst the New Federation unfolds leading to fans looking forward to more of his “journal”.
