For the Relief of Unbearable Urges
This is a collection of short stories, as intense and well-written as anything I've read. Englander is a master. Most of the stories deal with Orthodoxy and the lives of the Orthodox, but it isn't necessary to be keyed into Jewish culture to understand them.
