Joy posts on 1/5/2014 4:26:47 AM Dear Dr. West, U probably value ur privacy very much so I don't know if u will see, read or respond: I m 57, female, have a double Masters in related fields of Psychology & Counseling & have been accepted 2 wk on my PhD. My most recent therapist recommended ur bk 2 an alter bcuz she fights him so hard re: the dx we have. I stopped seeing him 4 other reasons. On disability now, I counsel only indigent folks w dx of chronic mental illness & 4 $0 to next to $0 4 unlimited sessions! LOL, not a way 2 get rich! I m so sorry but can only read bks on kindle or puter not paper & can't afford the current kindle price 4 ur bk. I did just read the "look inside" part on amazon & know I wuld read it all up. tyvm 4 b-ing so brave. An insider 1x saw u on Oprah but when was that? Dx for 17 yrs but many w no tx & freq. changes of therapist, psychiatrist, case managers & dx led 2 me sometimes "giving up" esp n light of the still extant controversy & recent freedom of info pub by Colin Ross, MD that revealed CIA funding of mc studies at UNC when my father was there taking residency n Psychiatry! & I can't remember anything from 3rd grade but do recall being in observed classroom at UNC in 2nd. this frightens & angers me all at once. I want to know but don't want to know more. Prolly shouldn't post any of this but hope t catch ur eye. JESS n CA.
Emilee Sorenson posts on 5/25/2010 3:37:33 PM I'm going to school for psychology to specialize in DID. I can't read or learn enough about the disorder. It never fails to amaze me how little the average psychologist knows about DID. Your book was inspirational and insightful. I hope it's used as an educational tool for those who are unaware of the very real and very consuming disorder.

Karen posts on 6/15/2009 3:36:43 PM This is one of the best books I've ever read about DID. I have a sweet friend who was physically, sexually abused and tortured throughout her life. She is now 30 yrs old and is still in therapy for her disorder. She also deals with substance abuse, but has been relatively clean for three years. She has a teenage alter that sometimes slips out and uses. I would love to be able to talk with Cameron West. I need suggestions about how to help her in her recovery. I love and am supportive of her, but I still wonder if there's more that I can do. I also pray daily for her. If Mr. West reads this blog, would you please email me! Thank you.

Rene posts on 6/23/2005 10:53:23 PM this is one of the most amazing books i have ever read. Suffering from DID myself, it gives me hope there is something out there for me.
Kristy posts on 3/8/2005 8:18:41 AM This was the best book i have ever read. It is even better because it is his real life! For all those doctors who think he is making it up... thats incredibly stupid! Why would anyone want to make up those horrible experiences!
