posts on 8/4/2006 7:33:17 PM I can tell you that the real ending to 'Come to Grief' is not the same as the one in this Dick Francis Novel. Because this book is based on part of the life of my family and self. Want to know more? Just put my name in any search engine and follow the links.

posts on 6/12/2006 11:55:25 PM Avid reader since age 10, I'm happy to add Dick Francis to my list of life afferming knowledgable and well researched authors. However In some of his books, including Ten lb penalty, I've noticed that after the books final climax all remaining story line is confined to the space of two or three pages. In books like dead cert he allowed at least a chapter or more to wrap up the story line. Not doing this final post view leaves the readers still keyed up from unravling the mystery and still involved in the tribulations of the story's main characters. Or worse, as in my case sorely tempted to desecrate the storyline by adding my own rendition of a ending to the work. Does anyone know why this practice has become so popular not only with Dick Francis's work but with many other works of modern literature?
