Elizabeth Peters Message Board

Nicola posts on 9/14/2005 7:07:39 AM Hi, Mary Helen, I don't think you are the only obsessional Amelia fan - my sister and I speak in Amelia code and am currently perusing "Hippopotamus Pool" when I should be working on my assignment! I just think that Amelia fans tend to be brighter and thus, most likely busier! For me, reading Amelia's are now (unfortunately) limited to holidays and fits of procrastination. Have a great week.
Peter Roth posts on 9/13/2005 5:23:45 PM I have a copy of Crocodile on the Sandbank, Dodd,Mead, NY., copyright 1975. The title page is printed with the title "On The Sandbank" Missing is the word "Crocodile" in the title. Is this a misprint??
Mary Helen in San Francisco posts on 6/5/2005 2:12:51 AM Why is there such little activity on this message board? Am I the only obsessive Amelia fan here? Have read the whole series 3 times and am half way thru the 4th time. I think one of the best in the series is "The Snake, the Crocodile and the Dog." My least liked is "The Deeds of the Disturber." Any comments?

Mary Helen in San Francisco posts on 5/12/2005 2:28:35 AM In "The Crocodile on the Sand- bank", page 4, Amelia states that she was 32 when she first went to Egypt and met Emerson.
GMC posts on 5/11/2005 10:59:17 PM How old was Amelia Peabody when she met Emerson?
Mary Helen in San Francisco posts on 5/6/2005 2:07:41 AM Was disappointed in this one. Too light weight after the wonderful Children of the Storm. Strange to change the name Charla to Carla with no explanation. But Peters is still my favorite author and can hardly wait another year for a new Amelia Peabody story!
Kathleen posts on 5/5/2005 6:42:45 PM I, too, was disappointed in Serpent. The humor was flat and so were the characters. Even Sethos has lost his punch.Get rid of Jumana an have Bertie marry Maryam. What is the deal with the name change of Charla? Carla?
The Girl Pharaoh posts on 5/5/2005 2:18:59 PM This title refers to the nickname for a street in Rome, where the crooked antique dealer's shop is located. Hope this helps!
manda posts on 5/5/2005 12:47:42 PM how does the title (street of the five moons) connect to the book? i havnt read this in a while and i need to know...
Kay Wegeleben posts on 4/5/2005 1:01:34 AM Has anybody completed this book yet? I was terribly disappointed with it. I especially hate that Charla's name has been changed to Carla without any explanation.
