Rose posts on 1/14/2010 6:31:45 PM I am an A level student studying enduring love but i cant find any chapter analysis anywhere! It would be helpful if anyone knew a good website? thank you!
patricia s. stevens posts on 1/19/2008 10:47:41 AM I read the bookseveral years ago then saw the movie last night and came to conclusion the writer a, man toointelligent to be superficial, is writing about "writing" the sound of the typewriter all throught the movie what a writer's imagination can unleash , stir up , influence etc etc..this above all the obvious in the plot is what I believe was NcEwan's theme. his exploration trimmed attractively with sensuous love scenes, gorgeous tirties England homes and gardens and horror of war .
Katie posts on 1/13/2008 7:08:42 AM I had to read The Cement Garden for my English Literature A2 Level and write a piece of coursework comparing it to The Catcher in the Rye (J.D Salinger). Although J.D salinger's book raises a lot of thoughtful dilemna's and the reader feels empathy towards the central character, in The Cement Garden, all i felt was disgust. The crude writing and simply boring events did not reach my class and we were all relieved to finally finish the book! just wondering if anyone who has read it actually enjoyed it!
Reader posts on 12/21/2007 11:13:49 PM I just bought this book without knowing much about it and i am unsure if i should really give it a go. I was unable to find much of the plot so i was wondering which character this novel mainly follows, the two people in love, or the man and his accuser. If someone could let me know that would be great.
Grace posts on 2/8/2006 8:00:01 PM I saw the last part of this movie a long time ago and have tried to find it on ever since but have been unable to. I am trying to get the book (off E-bay) right now so I may be able to read it soon. Is there anyone that likes this book (The Cement Garden)? It sounds very unusual and kind of twisted because there's a weird attraction between the brother and sister (right?) Just wondering if anyone that has read it likes it...THANKS!
