I was enjoying Paradise County until I reached the part were the villan set a live stray dog on fire. That is the most heinious and cruel action ever. It did not further the plot nor make the villan more evil. The villan, by the act of kidnapping the boy and girl with intent to kill, was already evil.
It simply made me stop reading this or any other Karen Robards novels.

Trying to find authors who write similar to Karen Robards. I enjoy Ms. Robards sense of humor, and always have a good laugh when reading many of her books. Any suggestions?

Cj try johanna lindsey also, they have the same kind of style.. The gold coin and the silver coin by Karen is also really good.

I just Finished reading Bait, If you haven't read it yet go get it right now.. It is Awesome and is becoming one of my fave authors!!!!!.

I'm halfway through and have found myself laughing hilariously during several parts. I've read several Robards' books previously but I believe this has to be my favorite for comedy lines. GREAT READ, KAREN!!! Thanks for entertaining us so thoroughly.

I liked the part in the end and can only imagine the look on Sir Edwards face when Connor run him through with his sword. Sir Edward had a fitting demise for taking away Conner's one true love, Caitlyn. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

I think Robards is the best in historical fiction. I've read a few other authors & followed some of the suggestions on lists availabe on amazon, but all have so far disappointed me... anyone have any other suggestions? I've read every one of her books & Tiger's Eye, Loving Julia & the 2 Banning sisters books are my favorite.

I thought paradise county was a really great book, i think she should right a sequal or make it into a movie, i had all my friends read it and they love it too.I love that she is very descriptive in her writing she makes you feel like you are there.
