Mitch Albom Message Board

romayne posts on 11/17/2008 6:43:29 PM Dear Mr. Mitch Albom I do not know where to start to say a BIG thank you for your insperation that your books "The Five People You Meet In Heaven and "For One More Day" have given me. I have right side epilepsy, for this reason its extremely difficult for me to read books, for as soon as I turn a page I have forgotten what I have read from the previous page, BUT YOUR BOOKS are the first ever books I have read and could not put down. It took me 10 days to read your "Five People You Meet In Heaven and only 4 days to read "For One More Day". I have now bought your "Tuesdays with Morrie". I work as a LSA with Disable students within a College so I do not get much time to read, but I MAKE time to read your interesting books. I believe the reason why I can read your books is because you write your characters so people can actually visulise them so well you feel you really know these people in your books. I have to have everything visulised otherwise my brain will not accept the important things I have to do in life, including my work with the students. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY " I have read not ONE but TWO books all the way through" and I can remember every single stage of each book. By the way, I am 61 years YOUNG, so YES, this is all so new for me, again THANK YOU. Regards and for ever grateful to you. Romayne from England UK

Thsi book took you to the next level of life and showed you the true meaning of life nad how it affect people that we might not even have seen before. Eddie, the main character in the book has put an impression in me and i hope to everyone else who reads it.
cra posts on 2/3/2005 7:12:13 PM I think he's a pretty civil guy for the most part, but not one bit on politics. If Bush was pro-gay, and pro-abortion, Mitch would be praising his marriage, Mitch has to try to hold the moral high ground, so he acts like Iraq is a big cold-hearted failure On Bush's part. From they condemn a culture that he grew up in and participated in (namely, that its OK to have premarital sex). So instead of growing up, and saying, "Yeah, I guess we believed and did some foolish things back then", he gets all scandalized, and resents really put me off were: 1) His "joke" on David Letterman that premarital sex is OK. 2) The time he had people call in on his show to say when it was that same time, he's going to have to let go of some bad philosophies of the me-first generation, and grow up a little bit. When it comes to politics, its pretty obvious where his bias is. Nothing against having a bias, if its honest, sincere, and logically consistent, but I have not found that to be the case. It seems to be more based on a shoulder chip. At the same time, I am interested to see "5 People You Meet in Heaven" tonight; though I haven't read the book yet. It is a pretty neat idea for a book, I must say. Then again, if he keeps implying to our youth that premarital sex is OK, his reality may be "The 5 People I meet at the Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea". I say nd one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea." Couple him saying premarital sex is OKmean, how much moreGod forgives our sins, if we're truly sorry and truly repentant. Hopefully that will be the case with Mitch, and all of us, for that matter, by the time we say goodbye here on earth. Jim
