Well, the movie Rumble Fish isn't a lot like the book, because they swore a lot more, not to mention one of the scenes in there isn't in the book, but other than that, it stays true to the basic plot line.
But I'd choose the book over the movie any day.

i read your book the outsider's and i really liked it a lot. i was reading your biography and i read that you you wrote the book whe you were around 15 or 16 when you wrote it. and i myself am 15 and i am busy writing my first novel...you were an inspriation to me to start writing and i just wanted to thank you for it. when i get done with it i'm going to try to get it published i'm hoping but i don't think that anybody are going to want to publish it...but we'll see.

Nobody ever posts here do they? I'm surprised. These are amazing books! I thought more and more would post about them and the author too! Hinton of course!

I still don't understand why the outsiders is banned. i mean why? - I was changing the channels to see what movie i could watch on the 500's. (cable). And I found Rubmle Fish, It was rated R. Is the book really like the movie. Is it violent. I haven't seen the movie nor read the book. I'm looking forward to.

Scince when id=s the outsiders banned? I am on 8th grade now, and my class read that bokk as a hand-out, in-class novel. It was probably one of the best books that I have ever read. Honestly, I didn't think that it was going to be very good, but I was deffinately wrong. The movie was great as well. Well, I have to go and finish my book-report on Tex. Bye ya'all!

i asked my language teacher she said that even if the book is banned from schools she'll still pass it out because she loves it so much.

Why was the Outsiders banned? Who was it banned by?How long was it banned? Was the group succesful in banning the book?

RACHEL! Obviously by that you can tell that I totally remember you. I hadn't been on in a while either until my last little post message thingie. Okay, I've got a kind of bad summary of Tex... but I'd rather not put it up until I re-read the book to make sure it's accurate. Speaking of summaries, I have to go so I can work on my homework that I've put off.
