posts a message on 6/11/2006 12:56:00 PM Recently I found this wonderful piece by Sergei Rachmaninov. Addinsell; Rachmaninov; Shostakovich [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED] by Decca was available at Best Buy. This piece is 23:36 and is outstanding. I love it!
posts a message on 5/6/2006 8:29:20 AM The tulips are just blooming, and the lilacs will be shortly (my favorite time). If you do go, the ferry ride from St. Ignes has better views, and make sure to take time to try out a rocking chair at the Grand. Sun morning aroun noon, on the East bluff the view is amazing, and the church bells tolling...The whole trip is worth it.

posts a message on 5/5/2006 1:50:19 PM Does anyone know the remedy for curing this enormous desire to pack off to Mackinac Island to try and capture that Somewhere In Time romantic magic?
posts a message on 5/5/2006 1:49:15 PM Christopher Reeve's performance was a bit shaky in this film (i.e. the scene in the gazebo where he appears to expect the thugs who approach and beat him), but I can envision no other man for this part. Jane Seymour's performance, on the other hand, was outstanding. She made the film what it is. Her beauty, sensuality, and feel for the part was natural. She was perfect for this film.
posts a message on 5/5/2006 1:47:37 PM My favorite part in the book—Richard's intense search to find that 1896 hotel register. Without this proof he could never know if he would ever truly be with his soul mate. My favorite part of the movies—Richard's visit to the door of Miss McKenna's room where he asked how she slept. “Wonderfully,” she responds. I love how she tried to mask the incredible fascination she had for Richard.
posts a message on 5/5/2006 1:46:22 PM I am reading Somewhere In Time (Bid Time Return) for the second time because I have become addicted to the movie. Richard Matheson's book is enormously intriguing. The movie takes his time travel story to a whole other level. I've never experienced such an intensely sensual time travel story before. I'm totally engrossed. I know of no other writer, including myself, who has the ability to reach such levels of passion in reader's minds. And for a guy, I know that can be unusual these days.
SIT_Fan posts on 4/5/2006 1:30:36 PM I can't believe I found out that there is Somewhere In Time Convention this October at the Grand Hotel. Going to try to make it there at that time. That was the best movie of all time!
