The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Message Board

inquisitor posts on 9/28/2005 12:52:42 PM Never mess around with something that has been done well already, I say. Look at all those idiots who queued up for the new star wars films that have tainted the old ones so much. The film has tainted the brand. THHGTTG is quintessentially british in terms of humour. The film version was made for the US market. Please watch the excellent casting/scripting in the BBC version and you'll see why it is so much better (like the original star wars). Why someone thinks these remakes are necessary I'll never know (money, perhaps?!)
jet posts on 9/28/2005 8:51:10 AM ya wanna know why alot of people don't like hitchers guide because it was boring and there was no point to the movie. I liked it because I got my sleep caught upi with my sleep.
inquisitor posts on 9/25/2005 8:59:38 PM the film's rubbish, zayphod's rubbish - watch the far superior BBC implementation of the book instead if you havn't seen it yet.

GhettoGandalf posts on 9/25/2005 4:38:01 AM I don't get why lots of people don't like this film. Yes, it isn't a verbatim screenplay of the book, but what was left in was great. Douglas Adams actually wrote part of this movie, before he died. Then his friend carried on writing it. To actually try to put everything from hte book into his movie would make it twelve hours long. I mean, Peter Jackson left out tons of sutff from the Lord of the Rings, but those movies were still great. This is a comedy people! It isn't supposed to make sense. You just laugh at it!
