Hlynur is 30 years old, doesn't want to work and still lives with his mother. He spends his time smoking, watching porn movies and drinking with his friends at the local bar. Once in a while, he sleeps with HÃÆ'³fÃÆ'ÂÂ, a young girl who'd like him to change his way of life and marry her.
Hlynur's life will be turned upside down when his mother asks Lola, her flamenco teacher, to stay a few days in their house. Hlynur and Lola, intoxicated, spend the night of the 31st of december together but, the next day, his mother dares to tell him the truth: she's fallen in love with Lola and both women have decided to live together. That's also the moment chosen by HÃÆ'³fÃÆ' to tell Hlynur that she is pregnant. The poor young man decides then to move in one of his friends's apartment in order to assimilate this disturbing news.
