Two young lesbians, Maggie and Kim, meet in Vancouver, and hit it off from the beginning. After Kim's van, in which is is living out of, get towed away for being parked too long, Maggie alows Kim to move in with her. Maggies mother, Lila, and brother are supposed to be coming to stay the next day, but end up coming a day early! They come in at just the wrong time, almost catching Kim and Maggie in the shower. Luckily, they didn't get caught, and Lila doesn't suspect anything. After Maggie's friend Judy, a transsexual about to undergo her final surgery to become a full women, befriends Lila, Lila soon starts to find out more about her daughter and her group of friends.
