John Reilly (Jeffrey Combs) inherits a twelfth century castle in Italy where he takes his wife (Barbara Crampton) and blind daughter (Jessica Dollarhide) to visit. While at the castle they are plagued by weird unexplained noises, mysterious broken objects and the claims of the daughter having a nocturnal visitor to her bedroom. When the housekeeper and local prostitute are found savagely murdered in the castle's dungeon, John has to find a way to prove his innocence to the police and save his family from the secret inhabitant that dwells in the basement.
