The film Candy follows the life of married middle-aged couple, Richard and Maria Forst. Their fourteen year marriage together has been on the rocks lately, as the passion the two once had together slowly drifting apart by everyday routine. The memories the two once had laughing, smoking, joking about their own friends unfaithful ways comes into reality one day. Getting some fresh air away from home, Richard meets up wih a old college buddy to catch up on old times and have a drink or two.

While having their guys night out, the two is approached by a young prostitute, Jeannie Rapp. Richard immediately becomes her client and Jeanne and has extramarital affair with the lady, growing feels and affection that he once shared with his wife. Meanwhile back home, Maria feels lonely and alone, despite being married and is invited by her friends to hang out at nightclubs, to feel alive again and some sense of happiness.
During a night out in a club, Maria catches the eye of Chet, a young man who is attracted to older women; especially the ones that are married like Maria. Chet gets involved with Maria and his usual act of leaving a woman hanging after a night of passion does not seem to work on him. The man actually cares for the unhappy wife, even though Maria seems to be fulfilled by Chet in a physical way, she feels there is some hope in her marriage and that it can be possible to not let it completely dissolved. The Forsts relationships with others seem to help what is missing in their own marriage, but both feel uncertain what should they do next, face their problem and fix or move on for good.
