This multi Oscar-winning film is exsquisitely directed and superbly shot by Richard Attenborough. It details the life-long struggle of Mohandes Karamchind Gandhi (Mahatma) to create an equal India, fighting against the self-proclaimed rule of the British and the corruption of the political segregation of India and Pakistan. The film follows Gandhi's life from his early days as a lawyer in South Africa to his assasination as a frail old man.
