Juliet, a 40 years old woman, lives with her husband Giorgio in a mansion in the countryside near Rome. While the naive Juliet is still adoring her husband who was her first and only love, everybody around her knows that Giorgio is cheating on her when he's away from home. After having heard Giorgio say the name of "Gabriella" while dreaming, Juliet hires a private detective to watch on him. Meanwhile, she's beginning to have strange hallucinations involving her sensuous neighbour Sandra Milo. She's also passing her spare time to consult mediums, gurus or would-be psychologists in order to give a new sense to her life. But will Juliet be able in the end to tell the difference between reality and the hallucinations she's experiencing more and more? JULIET OF THE SPIRITS is the first movie shot in color by Fellini and the italian master presents a symphony of colors one can not easily forget.
