John Berger is running for mayor but the hopes of becoming one is slim to none. After a recorded conversation of Maxwell Potterdam (head of a chemical company) which can get his crminalized, Potterdam is furious and now hitmen is after Berger. Frantically looking around for the recorded message of Potterdam in Susan's apartment,(his campaign manager that switched the wrong audio), problem arise between the two badly. But Carl, a light-hearted garbageman listens in on the two and shoots Berger in the buttocks with a pellet gun. Afraid of being caught he moves away from the scene and what he doesn't realize is that two hired gunmen is after Berger anyway to finish him off by strangling him. Meanwhile while the men got the candidate's body in the back of the trunk heading to the waste dump, it falls out and lands by nearby garbage. Coincidentally, Carl and his co-worker and pal James will have to pick it up and will soon go through some crazy twists and turns.
