Gwyn Marcus (Sarah Jessica Parker) is one of three adult children in a wealthy, tight-knit, Jewish family living in Miami. Gwyn has just accepted a marriage proposal from her live-in boyfriend, Matt. However, she worries their commitment to each other can't possibly last. One reason is that, while outwardly happy, Gwyn's parents are cheating on one another: Mom (Mia Farrow) is having an affair with the handsome Cuban nurse tending to Gwyn's ailing grandmother, while Dad is carrying on with a travel agent. To make matters worse, her brother has left his pregnant wife for a fashion model, and her sister is having an extramarital fling just a few months after getting married. Thus, Gwen has to figure out whether or not a committed relationship is feasible.
