Matty Perlman (Marshall) and Alan Corkus (Reiner) are old friends and have been since their youth. Alan wants to be a writer. Matty wants to be in show business. Despite their years of friendship, there's a little more bubbling beneath the surface. Alan wants to be more than friends and seeks to woo Matty. They try to have a romantic relationship and ultimately fail, try and fail. Can best friends be successful lovers?
