A wealthy man being chased by the mob for a real estate misunderstanding hides out in a small Amish community. He ends up marrying 5 women. Because he wants the man's land, the banker frames the man for counterfeiting. He gets thrown in jail, but his wives break him out. When the mob finally catches up with the man, it turns out that he and the mob boss are old friends. When the man leaves the small community his wives decide to go their separate ways. However, the man finds happiness by marrying the writer of his five wives' favorite book.
