As in the first two Naked Guns, Lt. Frank Drebin returns as the bumbling cop who laughs in the face of terrorism. He is retired, but is called back into action by the LAPD when the terrorists try to blow up the Academy Awards. The film is filled with its usual hilarious one-liners and screw-ups, but sometimes the scenes are too silly for any serious laughter. The best moment is when Drebin shows up at the Academy Awards dressed as talk-show host Phil Donahue.
