Night Nurse (1931) Movie Review Summary

Actors: Barbara Stanwyck, Clark Gable

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Night Nurse (1931)

This crime thriller from the early sound era features Barbara Stanwyck as an apprentice nurse who finds herself working in a wealthy household with an alcoholic mother whose two children are being slowly done in by an unscrupulous doctor with the help of a brutal chauffeur (Clark Gable). Although I doubt Night Nurse got the endorsement of the AMA, it is a breezy depiction of Prohibition-era America, crisply directed by William Wellman (Wings, The Public Enemy).
