Of Mice and Men Movie Review Summary

Actors: Gary Sinise, John Malkovich

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Of Mice and Men

The movie is a straightforward retelling of the John Steinbeck novel. Lennie (Malkovich) and George (Sinise) are two drifters searching for work during the Great Depression. They work as a team; George, who is shrewd, uses his brains to find them employment, while Lennie, who is a giant, is good at hard manual labor. What is problematic is that Lennie is retarded and does not recognize the full extent of his physical strength. Though George feeds him with dreams of a better future – a home that they will own, letting Lenny tend the rabbits, and a comfortable and independent existence – Lennie's shortcomings lead to tragedy.
