Selena Quintanilla Perez lived a blessed life during the 1980s-90s through her successful singing career. Born in Texas and raised within a Mexican family, she became one of the first Latin pop stars to go to the mainstream audience. She falls in love and elopes with the guitarist in her band, Chris Perez, against her father's will. Her gutsy, honest, and talented nature was tragically stopped on March 31st, 1995 when her obsessed fan club president, Yolanda Salvidar, shot and killed her. The movie 'Selena' starring Jennifer Lopez displays the amazing but terribly short life of Selena Quintanilla Perez.
