Set in Paris during the leftist political uprisings of 1968, the Dreamers follows Matthew, an American exchange student. Through his love of the cinema, he meets siblings Theo and Isabelle, who share his obsession with film. When Theo and Isabelle invite Matthew to live with them while their parents are away, he discovers that they are engaging in a bizarre, quasi-incestuous relationship. Matthew finds himself drawn further and further into the strange, and confusing world they have created.
