While this is going on, the daughter begins to flirt with Charlie, dropping her hankie on the floor. Of course, before handing it back to her, he blows his nose with it. A house catches fire, and the brigade is sent out. The man sets his apartment on fire, not realizing that his daughter is upstairs. He panics and gets Charlie to rescue her.
