Toño, with his sister-in-law Paulina and her children, are fleeing from their small hometown lost in the jungle. Their town and its people have just been destroyed and killed during a conflict between the guerrilla warfare, the army and the para-militaries.

Paulina wants to go to Bogota, the largest city in Colombia, in order to ask an old friend for help but, when arrived in the city, she learns that her friend has quit working three months before without leaving an address. The four immigrants will have to spend their first night in the streets of Bogota, one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
