Meet Georgia May Byrd.... she's a basic Black American woman working a 9-5 job for Kreagen Deptarment Stores. Muddling through life and secretly dreaming of her "possibilites". Cooking extravgent dinners for the neighbor boy (aged 14 or so)Demetrius, and working diligently to please others. All the time in LOVE with her co-worker Sean played by LL Cool J and not having the guts to get with him. Then one day fate collides... Sean comes over to her section (the kitchen / housewares dept.) as the smell of her duck confit on brushette reminds him of home (supposedly- truly he's been just as in love with her as she with him) and while talking she hits her head and is knocked unconcious. Sean carries her to the in-department store clinic where Dr. Gupta gives her a CAT scan. This scan shows she has Lampington's diesase and she'll live for maybe another 3 to 4 weeks. She thus cashes in.. sells her bonds etc. so that she can go to Hotel Pupp in Prague to see one of her favorite chefs; Chef Didier (played by Gérard Depardieu). Since she is 'seemingly' footloose and fancy free and arrives at the hotel via helicopter people begin to think she is something of a rich monied in-crowd person. She doesn't dispute it but lives as though her time is short- oh wait it is.. She skiis for the first time- has spa treatments fit for a queen (no pun intended), goes base jumping, orders 6-8 course meal of the famous Didier's menu without subsetutions. Meanwhile stay at the same fancy resort is the Senator from LA which is where she is from, and a congress man, and low and behold Mr. Kreagen himself. The young, hip, cool Mr. Kreagen. taking names and crapping on all those around him. The same man that ran the Department store she worked at for many years and that Sean her love still does work at. This man to put it mildly is egotistical, expecting the world including his assistant to revolve around him.
