Charles Duchemin is the esteemed author of the Duchemin guide which, every year, gives or withdraws stars from French restaurants. Now Tricatel, the king of industrial food, is trying to obtain the mockup of the next edition of the guide while Duchemin and his son are testing their last restaurants before the printing.

Duchemin has also to deal with the passion of his son Coluche for circus. Every night, Coluche leaves home in order to play the clown in the circus he's created.
