Beverly Hills socialite Phyllis Neffler has only one thing on her mind, shopping. Her obsession with material things has sent her husband Freddie off the wall amd now demanding divorce from his material-seeking wife. But Mrs. Neffler has tried in the past to get involve in various causes but as long as she stays in a charity, more work will need to be done and this proves to be a huge problem for her; why should Neffler works when she has all the money in the world!

As her marriage dwindles, Neffler does not want a divorce. Instead she is making another effort to her soon to be ex husband that she is serious about doing something with her life other than shopping. So happens there is news of the local girl scout, Wilderness Girls in need of a scout leader, since these bunch of kids act very unruly and drives any of their leaders away. Neffler is determined to challenge these girls. After all, the only thing they need to make them happy girl scouts is receiving material things. First Phyllis take the Wilderness Girls to the store to purchase girl scout uniforms. The girls slowly warms up to Phyllis' way of directing the group; as instead of camping outside, Neffler takes the girls to a posh hotel where they roast marshmallows in a fireplace.

The Wilderness Girls are right on track with a new attitude and much improvement, thanks to Phyllis. It would not be too long until Neffler has a nasty encounter with another girls scout leader named Velda Her group the Red Feather is everything that the Wilderness Girls is not- spoiled or pampered. Velda seek out to bring Neffler's group down, including sending a spy to get enclosed information on Neffler's and her girls and use them as her own. Cookie sales comes around and Velda want to sabatog her rival's chances of making much money than her group. But Phyllis works her way around the problem and at the end sells twice as much than Velda the villain. The ultimate straw comes around when the oppose groups is face to face in a girl scout competition which can determined who will be the next national girl scout champion.
