A Vietnam veteran named John "Four leaf" Tayback is turning his memoir Tropic Thunder into a film. A troup of actors named Tugg Speedman, Kirk Lazarus,Jeff Portnoy, and Alpa Chino are under the impression they're making a Vietnam war movie in South East Asia. The director of the movie cannot control their behavior. They realize they are one month behind schedule and over budget. The rookie director Damian drops them off in the jungle with hidden cameras. They wander in the jungle aimlessly and on the day of filming an accident comes upon the director, and the crew and cast are attacked by a gang of local drug dealers. The thugs end up kidnapping Tugg Speedman and its up to the team to come with a plan to attempt his rescue. The crew don't realize that they are in real danger and that the thugs are not actors stalking them but are in real trouble.

Best part of story, including ending:
I liked this movie because it is hilarious and has some great performances from the cast.
Best scene in story:
My favorite scene would be when Tugg Speedman tells Kirk Lazarus, "Why is everybody all obsessed with the map?" and Kirk replies with, 'Cause we're tired of being your trail donkeys! Acting like you some one-man GPS! God damn it! We lost! We fucking super lost, man!
Opinion about the main character:
What I like about the main character is his humor. He takes a serious role in the movie in attempt to saving his career.
