The audience loves Bud. Mike, a manager, agrees to sign Bud and turn him into a star. Not long into their relationship Bud becomes a star, but Mike is the only one making money.
Bud threatens to leave, but Mike tricks him in to staying long enough to pay off his supposed debts. However, after a visit from one of Mike's former clients, Bud becomes wise to Mike's plan. With the help of his brother, Bud tricks Mike. He records a conversation where he gets Mike to admit that he cheated him.
