Mio has spent his whole life walking in the shadow of being a convict's son. He knows his father was innocent and he is determined to prove it even it if takes the rest of his life.

He gets a lead that takes him to the big city. He finds himself in one of the poorest parts of town where he meets a lovely girl on a bridge. He and Miriamne (Margo) fall in love at first site but Mio sends her away knowing that the bitterness in his heart might poison her too.

Both good luck and bad luck grin upon Mio as he tracks down Garth Esdras (Paul Guilfoyle). Rumor has it that this guy has information about the robbery but was never called as a witness in his father's trial. The indignant son intends to take his deposition now, like it or not.

Meanwhile, another character is seeking answers. Judge Gaunt (Edward Ellis), who presided over the trial, has been haunted by thought of wrongful conviction for 20 years. It's so bad in his mind that he now walks in a world masked with confusion.

The judge makes it to see Garth first. A few minutes later Mio shows up. He is surprised to find Miramne there. As bad luck would have it, she is the sister of Garth, the informant. They all believe the party is complete but not quite so. Another plans to join the gathering. He is not seeking the telling of information but intends to put a stop to it permanently. This nasty uninvited guest in none other than Trock Estrella (Eduardo Ciannelli), the original kingpin in the robbery.

The vicious crime boss makes his way to the strange meeting. He bursts in wielding a gun and the men try to escape but someone is shot in the process. Which unfortunate guest was the victim once again? Was it the looney judge, the innocent Miriamne, her patsy brother or poor poor Mio?
