Frost/Nixon Movie Review Summary

Actors: Frank Langella, Michael Sheen

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Frost/Nixon

David Frost (Michael Sheen) is a British television host mostly popular for his less-than hard-hitting interviews, party-going, and womanizing. Seeing Richard Nixon (Frank Langella) on TV one day, he hatches a plan to interview him knowing the sensation it will eventually cause. Nixon has never aired his side since his resignation, and with Frost not posing as a general threat and with the appearance fee of $600,000, Nixon says yes. Frost gets to work and gathers information by hiring two investigators and fact-checkers Reston and Zelnick. The interviews are to be taped over several days covering four topics, with the final episode focusing on Watergate. When the first round of interviews begin, Nixon gives Frost the runaround and goes on senseless ramblings that prevent Frost from butting in. The same happens in the succeeding interviews. Frost, incredibly stressed because he invested much of his money into the venture realizes that the final interview would be his only chance at getting the President to fez-up for his past transgressions. A drunk Nixon calls him at night and reminds him that tomorrow's taping will make or break one of them. At the interview, Nixon slips into his old tactics again, but Frost rebuts by bringing up the phone call. Soon, Nixon is caught offguard, leading to his downfall on national television.

Best part of story, including ending: I like the underdog story posed by Frost, in the end he delivered.

Best scene in story: When Nixon screams "When the President does it, it is not illegal!"

Opinion about the main character: I like that you will root for Frost all the way, even if you are totally unsure if he is capable of the job.
