Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Mr. Morgan's Last Love

It's been 3 years since Matthew Morgan's beloved wife died of cancer and Matthew is still in mourning. He lives alone in their Parisian apartment, and enjoys the occasional company of the housekeeper and a French woman that he tutors in English. HIs grownup son and daughter live in the States and want him to come home. When Matthew meets a young girl Pauline on a bus, he is intrigued by her light and refreshing character. The two become friends. Pauline, who looks up to Matthew as a lost father figure, is seeking a sense of family that she never had. When Matthew has an emotional breakdown, he tries to commit suicide but survives. His two children show up and coax him to go home, but he refuses. When they meet Pauline, they think she's his girlfriend and resent her. Miles, Matthew's son decides to stick around to check on Matthew, and when he finds out that they are just platonic, he starts to like her. Meanwhile, Pauline helps Matthew let go of past baggage, to mend his relationship with Miles, and to say goodbye to his wife. Along the way, Miles and Pauline get together. Matthew now has closure, and upon realizing the role of Pauline in his life, he passes away.

Best part of story, including ending: It shows how people deal with loss in desperate ways.

Best scene in story: When Matthew and Pauline have their talks in the park.

Opinion about the main character: Matthew was never a father figure to his kids, so I find it odd that with Pauline, he was a natural.
