Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Footloose (1984)

A city boy moves to a small town where music and dancing are banned and he causes a stir. Ren moves from Chicago to the midwest and finds himself in a drab and lifeless small town. To add to his culture shock, the town has banned music and dancing much to the displeasure of the teens living there. He falls in love with the minister's daughter Ariel who has a wild streak and jealous boyfriend, she hangs out with Ren for the thrill. Ren also befriends Willard, a funny boy who gets him acquainted with "country life." As the teens pull rebellious stunts, the minister tries his best to remove Ren from his daughter's life. Ren mounts a prom and defends it at the city council, convincing the minister, but failing to get the approval of the other town members. The prom pushes through anyway, and they have a blast dancing at a mill located far from town.
