Klein become increasingly involved, sexually and intellectually.

Angelica offers Klein the opportunity to play out his fantasies, and this almost involves him in a homosexual rape episode. Klein is introduced to Angelica's 'team', and begins to find this strange world more interesting than his own.

It becomes evident that Angelica is in need of financial assistance to complete her research, and, in order to prolong his involvement, and gain power in the situation, Klein offers to bankroll the project.
However, things escalate, and there is a shocking end which leaves Klein on the wrong side of the law.
