    Division One Operative Joshua Carter is passionately attracted to his secretary, delicate Amanda Wainwright. After discovering her fiancee was a double agent who used her, Amanda is devastated. Watching Amanda struggle with heartbreak for a year, Josh fears for her health and sanity. Josh decides to get close to the vulnerable Amanda, who is tempted by the idea of an affair with the devastatingly handsome playboy spy Josh. Out on a lark one evening, Josh and Amanda cross paths with a suspected arms dealer, Rudy Olivara, with links to both their pasts. Forced to portray live-in lovers to allay the suspicions of the viscious criminal, Josh and Amanda spy on him to gain information about underworld shipments of uranium and plutonium.   Returning to Division One after attending a dazzling cocktail party hosted by Rudy, Josh and Amanda explore their desire for each other.
